WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE DOES A HEAT PUMP NEED?
The main on-going heat pump maintenance a home heat pump needs is the cleaning of the indoor air filters. Heat pump cleaning will ensure optimum performance from your heat pump unit. It is essential that the large heat pump filters in the upper front of your heat pump are cleaned on a regular basis - at least every 6-8 weeks. Always turn your heat pump off before cleaning your filters. The outdoor unit can be regularly hosed down especially if you are in a high salt area. Treat it as you would your car. Keeping it free of debris, especially at the rear of the unit, will help it perform better. If you are having difficulty cleaning the filters in your heat pump system, we can offer you a regular filter cleaning service.
